Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how NZ Pro Photography ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your information when you visit nzpro-photography.com, contact us, or use your client account. We are a wedding and event photography and videography business based in San Diego, California.
1. Information we collect
When you contact us (contact form, email, WhatsApp or Instagram): your name, email address, phone number, the type and date of your event, the venue or city, and anything you write in your message.
When you create a client account: your name, email address, phone number and username. Your password is stored only in an encrypted (hashed) form; nobody, including us, can read it.
When you are our client: your package, event details, the total price, and a record of your payments (amount, date, method such as Zelle, cash or check, and an optional reference such as a check number). We do not collect or store credit card or bank account numbers on this website.
Automatically: like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) in server logs for security and to keep the site running. We also keep short-term records of login attempts to protect accounts from being guessed.
2. How we use your information
- To answer your questions and send you availability, packages and prices.
- To plan, photograph and film your event, and to deliver your photos and videos.
- To run your client account: show your package and payments, confirm payments, and give you access to your private gallery.
- To send you account emails, such as your activation code, password reset codes and payment confirmations.
- To keep the website and your account secure and to prevent misuse.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
3. Cookies
We keep cookies to a minimum:
- Essential cookie (
nzpro_sess): keeps you logged in to your client account and protects forms against misuse. It is deleted when you close your browser or log out. The website cannot work properly without it. - Your cookie choice: we remember whether you chose "Essential only" or "Accept all" in your browser's local storage, so the notice doesn't appear on every page.
- Optional statistics: if you choose "Accept all", we may in the future use privacy-friendly statistics to understand which pages are visited. These are never loaded if you choose "Essential only".
You can change your choice at any time with the link at the bottom of every page, or delete cookies in your browser settings.
4. Services from other companies
- Hostinger hosts this website, its database and our email.
- Google Fonts provides the fonts on this website; your browser loads them from Google.
- YouTube and Vimeo: some videos are played from these services. They only load when you press play.
- WhatsApp and Instagram: if you choose to contact us there, their own privacy policies apply.
- Google Drive: your final photos and videos may be delivered through a private Google Drive link shared with your email address.
5. How long we keep your information
Messages from people who don't book are deleted within 12 months. Client records (contract details and payment history) are kept for as long as needed for our work and for tax and accounting rules, normally up to 7 years. You can ask us to close your client account at any time.
6. How we protect your information
The website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed, login attempts are limited, accounts are activated with a one-time code sent by email, and private galleries are only shown to the logged-in client. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your information safe.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what information we have about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can ask us to stop sending you emails. If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) gives you these rights, and we will not treat you differently for using them. Residents of other states may have similar rights. To make a request, contact us using the details below; we may ask you to confirm your identity first.
8. Children
This website is meant for adults planning their events. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 through this website. Photos of children taken at family events are only shared with the client who booked us.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version.
